We want to share an important update regarding our fees, effective February 1, 2025. We have carefully considered this change, reflecting our profession's evolving challenges.

Why the Change?
The Alberta Government has recently reduced the fees it reimburses for essential eye care services. These cuts come after nearly a decade without any adjustments for inflation, leaving reimbursement rates far below the actual cost of providing care. In fact, for each Alberta Health Care (AHC) insured appointment, we were incurring losses of up to $100. With the new reductions, this gap has widened further, making it unsustainable to continue absorbing these costs.

Our Commitment to You
We have given this decision careful consideration and believe that introducing a small fee for appointments is the only way to continue providing the care you deserve. This change allows us to:
- Maintain our high standard of care with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and technology.
- Continue to provide the personalized attention and expertise you expect from us.
- Ensure we can serve you and your family for years to come.

New Fees (Effective February 1, 2025)
- Senior Exam Copay: $40
- Child Exam Copay (6+ years): $15
- Senior & Child Partial Exams: $50

We know changes like this can be difficult, and we have done everything possible to keep fees minimal while ensuring we can continue serving our community.
